Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know before you visit

We want your visit to feel easy and relaxed from the moment you book. Here are the answers to the questions we hear most.

Planning your visit

Yes — all sessions are by appointment only. We keep our groups small so every visitor gets real time with the cows, and that means we can't accommodate walk-ins. Book your spot online or call us at (715) 538-3281.

We recommend booking as soon as possible we only run sessions late May thru early September on the weekends.

Sessions are available late May thru early September on the weekends from 8am to 3pm— check the booking page or give us a call.

We're in Hixton, Wisconsin — in the heart of Jackson County. Exact directions are sent with your booking confirmation. We're about 90 minutes east of the Twin Cities and 2.5 hours northwest of Madison.

Yes, we have space to park. Just give us call when you are just about here with your vehicle description so we know to look out for you.

What to expect

You'll come to our already set up cuddle area where we have a group of selected cows/calves. You will be able to pet them, brush them, take pictures, give them treats, and just sit by them or near them and relax for the duration of your session. When your session is complete we ask that you step out of the cuddle area for the next group. After your session your welcome to set up a picnic, mingle outside the cuddle area, ask for a small tour of our farm, we might have some yummy lemonade to drink, there is no rush we just ask for respect for the other groups after you 😁

Our Quick Hello is about 30 minutes. The Full Experience runs 60 minutes.

Our cows are gentle, calm, and used to people. That said, they're large animals and we treat them with respect. We'll walk you through how to approach and interact with them before you enter the cuddle area. Children are welcome with adult supervision.

Absolutely. Kids tend to have the best time. We ask that children stay with a parent or guardian at all times in and around the cuddle area as we live by a road. There's no strict minimum age — use your judgment as a parent.

We love dogs, but we ask that you leave them home for visits. Dogs can stress the herd and change the whole energy of the session. We want the cows calm and the experience peaceful for everyone.

What to wear & bring

Dress for a farm. Closed-toe shoes are suggested but not required. Clothes you don't mind getting a little dirty or grassy are ideal. In cooler months, layer up; Wisconsin weather can surprise you.

Possibly, yes. You're on a working farm. We will be in a area outside the pasture but cows still do their bodily functions and are not always clean about doing it. We would strongly suggest no white clothes.

Just yourself and your people. A picnic or snacks if you choose as there will be no food for people at the sessions just treats and hay for the cows. Feel free to bring a camera — you'll want photos. We're happy to take pictures for you.

Please don't bring outside food or treats for the cows — we manage their diet carefully. Strong perfumes or colognes can also be off-putting to the herd, so go easy if you can.

Pricing & booking

Our Quick Hello is $10 per person. The Full Experience is $25 per person. See the booking page for full details.

We do. We've been included in birthday parties, local farmers markets, and would love to be part of your special day! Max traveling distance of 1 1/2 hours one way due to cow safety. Contact us with any questions and we'd be happy to answer them.
